Madame Alexander originally constructed these dolls with internal bands. These bands age with time and eventually fray or break causing the doll to have loose or completely detached limbs/head. All dolls over the age of 10-15 years should or usually need to have these bands replaced, which is termed restringing. The dolls in this collection are from 25 years upwards to 48 years old.
The typical price on the market to restring one doll is $20-$30 not including 2-way shippping costs. By restringing our dolls in house we are able to reduce the cost and time you may have to expend after buying a doll somewhere else where dolls are not restrung. Each of these dolls were carefully restrung with no damage to the doll. This insures that you will receive a doll that is in top condition for many more years of enjoyment.
